Fiber internet questions, answered
Coverage, speeds, pricing, and what to expect when you get connected.
- Where is SilverStar fiber internet available?
- We're headquartered in Vancouver, WA. Business fiber and Ethernet reach 100+ communities across Oregon and Washington, and residential fiber is available in a focused set of communities in Southwest Washington and along the Washington coast. Availability is address by address, so send us yours and we'll confirm.
- What makes fiber internet better than cable?
- Fiber is symmetrical, so uploads match downloads instead of running 20 to 30 times slower. It isn't shared with a neighborhood node, so it holds speed during evening peak. And it delivers lower, steadier latency, which is what makes video calls, gaming, and cloud apps feel responsive.
- Do you serve both homes and businesses?
- Yes. Home fiber internet with managed whole-home WiFi on the residential side, and Dedicated Internet Access, Metro Ethernet, and 5G failover on the business side. Both run on the same network our engineers have built and operated for 25+ years.
- Are there data caps or contracts?
- No data caps and no throttling on residential fiber. Business circuits are contracted with a written SLA covering uptime, latency, and repair time.
- How long does it take to get connected?
- Most residential installations are a single scheduled appointment once the address is serviceable. Business circuits at buildings already on our fiber can often be delivered in a few weeks; sites needing construction take longer, and we give you a realistic timeline with the quote.
